Merit Laboratories Expands DoD ELAP PFAS Accreditation

Merit Laboratories is proud to announce an expansion of its PFAS accreditation through the Department of Defense Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (DoD ELAP), reinforcing our commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant PFAS data for defense and federal projects.

Merit Laboratories’ DoD ELAP scope now includes the following compounds analyzed by EPA Method 1633 (LC/MS/MS):

  • PFecHS

  • PFBSA

  • PFHxSA

Accreditation applies to both aqueous and solid matrices.

What DoD ELAP Accreditation Means

DoD ELAP accreditation is highly specific—covering analytical methods, compounds, parameters, and sample matrices. It is governed by the DoD Quality Systems Manual (QSM), developed by the Environmental Data Quality Workgroup (EDQW) and the Department of Energy Consolidated Audit Program (DOECAP).

Conformance with the QSM is mandatory for laboratories supporting Department of Defense environmental programs, ensuring consistent, defensible, and regulatory-compliant data.

DoD ELAP is a joint accreditation effort among the United States Air Force, United States Army Corps of Engineers, and United States Navy, supporting environmental work across active installations, operations, and Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS). More recently, the United States Department of Energy joined the program, expanding its reach to DOE facilities and programs.
