Merit Laboratories to Present at NEMC 2025 in St. Louis

We’re excited to announce that Merit Laboratories will be participating in the conference, taking place August 4th - 7th, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri. This year’s conference theme, “Building a Quality Culture as the Foundation for Reliable Data,” underscores the importance of quality assurance and continuous improvement in environmental monitoring and measurement.

NEMC is recognized as the largest conference in North America focused on environmental measurements and compliance. Co-organized with the Environmental Measurement Symposium, it brings together scientists, regulators, policymakers, laboratory professionals, and industry experts to share innovations, best practices, and technical advancements that shape the future of environmental science.

Our Contribution

Merit Laboratories will be contributing to the dialogue with both an oral and a poster presentation during the Environmental Measurement Symposium as part of the technical program. Maya Murshak will be attending on behalf of Merit Laboratories.

The poster presentation will highlight Proposed MUR and How it Will Affect PFAS Monitoring. The poster presentation updates the expanding list of accepted procedures and methods, proposed by the MUR (EPA Method Update Rule) including EPA Method 1633A and ASTM Method 8421. With the methods available (i.e., EPA, DOD, ASTM), an ever-growing compound list, many different matrices that need to be analyzed, and a higher focus on the acceptable PFAS exposure limits proposed by the EPA in 2023, this presentation tackles the analytical approaches to help meet the EPA and toxicological demands.

Maya will also be delivering a technical presentation on Technological Advances and Solutions for Reducing Methylene Chloride in Laboratory Settings. A few highlights of the presentation include why we care about reducing MeCl, techniques for reducing usage, and implementation of exposure control and compliance deadlines.

We’re proud to contribute to the broader conversation around data quality and integrity in environmental science.

Why This Matters

In an era where environmental decisions are increasingly driven by data, building a culture that prioritizes quality is more important than ever. From accurate laboratory testing to dependable field sampling techniques, the foundation of environmental protection starts with reliable information. Merit Laboratories believes that fostering a quality-centric mindset is key to ensuring that the environmental science industry continues to deliver trustworthy and actionable results.

Let’s Connect

Whether you're attending in person or following the conference from afar, we’d love to connect with others passionate about environmental measurement and data quality. Be sure to stop by our poster session, or reach out to us to learn more about our work and how we’re supporting quality in environmental data.
